Beef Stroganoff 1 - 2 pounds of Sirloin steak onion about 1/2 cup chopped Salt 1/2 teaspoon Dash pepper, garlic powder 2 beef bouillon cubes 2 cups water sour cream corn starch for thickening 2 Tablespoons small can of sliced mushrooms (4 oz) Noodles or rice Slice the steak very thin. Saute the onions and steak and garlic powder. Add about 2 cups water and bouillon cubes, salt and pepper. (Use less water for 1 pound of steak) Cook for 5 minutes or so. The meat takes very little time to cook, so don't over do the time. If it seems like too much liquid, pour a little of the broth out. Thicken the mixture with 2 tablespoons of corn starch in a little water. Then when the mixture is thick, add in mushrooms and sour cream. Use half or a little more of a 16 ounce (pint) container for about a pound of steak,( the whole thing for 2 pounds.) The more sour cream, the richer it is. Serve on cooked noodles or rice. Enjoy! The amount of steak depends on how many you want to serve. 1 pound is good for 2 or 3 people. It keeps pretty well for leftovers too. Just warm up over low heat. Sometimes for 2 people, you can use even less meat (3/4 pound or so).
